Old School knows best

I'm rockin' out to the new Lagwagon album right now. These dudes have been tearin' shit up for so long...great album. Just nice poppy punk. Thanks Mr. Cape.

Concerning your request for the Dead/Alive review. You have my significant other to blame for that one.

"Let's watch Dead/Alive."

"I'm tired." YAWN.

He will be helping me write the g-d review when he gets home from work. Go heap the blame and accusations on him. I tried to explain my sworn vow, but alas, he's the one who made me break it.

Go. Go now. Heap the coals upon his head.

OK, OK. I know this post is just trying to bait me…and I am biting.

Readers, if you want to listen to the best music in the world, put on

The Temptations, Marvin Gaye, Tower of Power, The Beatles, SugarLoaf, Rare Earth, War (w/Eric Burden and post Eric Burden), The Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac, Curtis Salgado and the Stillettos, Cold Blood (w/Lydia Pence), The 5th Dimension, Steppenwolf, Joe Cocker, Van Morrison, Al Green, The Young Rascals (later just The Rascals), The Beach Boys, The Bee Gees (yeah…I said it), Sly and The Family Stone, Janis Joplin with Big Brother and The Holding Company, Jimmy Hendrix, Edwin Starr (War, Huh, Good God Y’all….), James Brown (the undisputed God Father of Soul), Wilson Pickett (The Wicked Pickett), Buffalo Springfield, Led Zepplin, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Who, Booker T. and The MG’s, The Animals, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, Gladys Knight and The Pips…

…to name but a few.

Now we can quibble about whether or not this group or that group or persons should or should not be on the above list, BUT, if you have an Album or CD of each of those listed, you can sleep well at night knowing you have the greatest collection of Rock and Roll in the history of the world.

Period.

Pop. This deserves it's own post. Awesome. And I have to say, if not for the faulty birth control of the seventies and these records, I wouldn't be here. I also have to thank Chuck for my love of music, even though we may differ on Cher and Michael Jackson. Props!

Damn...I forgot them on my list.

The spiritual motivator that inspired you though, and by the way on the list, is none other than the Reverend Al Green.
